DC Switches are used in the railway industry as Earthing and Shorting Switches, Disconnectors and Contactors. In cooperation with our sister company RITTER Starkstromtechnik, HOMA can supply Load Break Switches (up to 100kA) and hand controlled Disconnectors.
Device for expanding the function of large contactors for over-current deactivation. The device enables the monitoring of up to three phase currents. If one of the thresholds set via the jumper is exceeded, the coil current (field current) of the large contactor is interrupted.
Flexible connections are manufactured with cross sections between 25 mm² and 4.500 mm². High current cables with round- or flat-connection with cross sections between 95 mm² and 8.000 mm². Bus bars with a thickness of 5 mm to 15 mm and a width of 20 mm to 200 mm.
HOMA Circuit Technology
For on-load switching (List 507E. Edition 01 August 2001). Induction furnaces for the heating and melting of metals possesses a deleterious power factor. In order to charge the supply mains only with active power, static capacitors are used to compensate for the reactive current.
Water cooled, to switching off load (List 427E. Edition 01/2008). HOMA circuit breakers are built in accordance to the regulations for switching devices VDE0660 for frequent switching ON or OFF, or for switching from one circuit to another under off-load conditions.

For off-load switching (List 280E. Edition 01/2008). Mains frequency and medium frequency air contactors for switching off load are electro-magnetically actuated no load switches. They are used for example, as capacitor contactors or as rotor short-circuit contactors.
